Here&#8217;s the bad news:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Forty-three percent said the church treated women as<br \/>\nsecond-class citizens, 39 percent said it used pressure tactics, 38<br \/>\npercent said it was pushy, 16 percent saw it as racist and 16 percent<br \/>\nsaid it was a &#8220;church to be feared.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s his prescription for dealing with the public perception problem.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>To<br \/>\ncombat these images, he recommends that Mormons listen before<br \/>\ncommenting, avoid LDS jargon in their conversations, speak plainly and<br \/>\nfollow the Golden Rule.
