As I explained, this website is part of the larger ministry of Laity Lodge (and the HEB Foundation), where I am now serving as Senior Director and Scholar-in-Residence.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehighcalling.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The High Calling of our Daily Work<\/em> <\/a>website seeks to encourage ordinary people to see their work as central to God&#8217;s call upon their lives. In many church settings, ordained ministers are said to have &#8220;a call,&#8221; while regular folks do not. This misses the biblical teaching on calling by a long shot. Indeed, Scripture makes it clear that all Christians are called by God into His service. For a few this &#8220;ministry&#8221; happens in the context of pastoral ministry in a church; for most this &#8220;ministry&#8221; occurs out in the world, including our workplaces.<br \/>\n<em>The High Calling of our Daily Work<\/em> includes lots of resources to teach and encourage you in your everyday service to Christ. There are interviews, Bible studies, and personal stories. One of the most popular features of <em>The High Calling<\/em> website is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehighcalling.org\/Library\/Browsing_Messages.asp?TypeID=1\" target=\"_blank\">collection of radio spots<\/a> recorded by Howard E. Butt, Jr., the founder of Laity Lodge. Be sure to visit <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehighcalling.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The High Calling<\/a><\/em> website. If you like what you see, you can sign up for several free subscription resources, including my Daily Reflection. Mark has written several books, including No Holds Barred: Wrestling with God in Prayer (WaterBrook, 2005), Dare to Be True (WaterBrook, 2003), Jesus Revealed (WaterBrook, 2002), After \"I Believe\" (Baker, 2002), and Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther (Word, 1993). His most recent book is Can We Trust the Gospels? Investigating the Reliability of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John (Crossway, 2007). He is currently working on a commentary on Ephesians that will be published by Zondervan in 2014.
