The campaign allows people to &#8220;adopt&#8221; one of 11 named &#8220;liberals&#8221; or anybody else who might be a &#8220;liberal.&#8221; See below:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/lynnvsekulow\/adopt-Barry-screenshot.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mt-image-center\" alt=\"adopt-Barry-screenshot.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/93\/import\/assets_c\/2009\/10\/adopt-Barry-screenshot-thumb-600x853-8229.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"853\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to see that I was the only non-government official offered up for adoption.&nbsp; I am right in line with President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and (I&#8217;ll admit this is my favorite) Arnold Schwarzenneger.<\/p>\n<p>As some of you know, I have been the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.au.org\/media\/press-releases\/archives\/2009\/09\/au-denounces-arizona.html\">target<\/a> of several &#8220;imprecatory prayer&#8221; campaigns recently, where Pastor Wiley Drake and former chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt have been praying for my death.&nbsp; The new approach seems a lot more civil.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I did receive one e-mail indicating that the sender would be happy to<br \/>\n&#8220;adopt&#8221; me if I would do chores. Sorry about that, but that is a<br \/>\nnon-starter.&nbsp; I am not raking leaves; I am not taking out the garbage.&nbsp;<br \/>\nI have enough of that to do where I live now.&nbsp; Please also note that I<br \/>\ndo stay&nbsp;up late and I will not live with cats.<\/p>\n<p>In another note, Christian Broadcasting Network White House Correspondent David Brody also made a <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cbn.com\/thebrodyfile\/\">reference<\/a><br \/>\nto me today.&nbsp; He was&nbsp;reporting that the phrase &#8220;In God We Trust&#8221; has<br \/>\nbeen chiseled into the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center over the objection<br \/>\nof civil libertarians. He posted a photograph of what the new engraving<br \/>\nlooks like and then he joked that the Congressional Prayer Caucus<br \/>\noriginally would have preferred an engraving that looked like this<br \/>\npicture:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Barry Blog pic.gif\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/93\/import\/Barry%20Blog%20pic.gif\" class=\"mt-image-center\" style=\"margin: 0pt auto 20px;text-align: center\" width=\"600\" height=\"461\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Brody followed that up with, &#8220;<font><font face=\"Arial\">C&#8217;mon just a joke! A little Evangelical humor! Yes we actually have a sense of humor.
