Why? Because it is so positive.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I could nitpick, but <em>Return of the Jedi<\/em> is so much more.<\/p>\n<p><em>Return of the Jedi<\/em> may not be as tightly written as the previous episodes in the trilogy, but it does have loads of life.<\/p>\n<p>The power of life endures.\u00a0 \u201cThe light shines in the darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The forces of good have reassembled in an armada in a location in space. After the Empire struck back in the previous episode, the Alliance [the force for good and life] has not given up in their quest to gain freedom from oppression in the galaxy.<\/p>\n<p>Then there&#8217;s the story of Han Solo.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Skywalker\u2019s buddy Han Solo has plenty of friends. Han has been captured, but Luke, Leia, Chewbacca, Lando, R2-D2 and C3-PO are coming for him.<\/p>\n<p>Han is better alive than dead so his friends attempt to get him back from the \u201cvile clutches of Jabba the Hutt\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>By now we know that Luke\u2019s father is Anakin Skywalker. Anakin turned from the good side to become Darth Vader, an agent of evil. &#8220;More machine now than man, Twisted and evil.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The good man Anakin fell from grace and became the villain Darth Vader. Luke discovers that Anakin is his father and goes on a mission to bring Vader back to his real self.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a mission of goodness and not self-seeking.\u00a0 Luke\u2019s mission is to reclaim the real person that has been hidden for more than thirty years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_242\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-242\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/lifeatthemovies\/files\/2016\/03\/Return-Of-The-Jedi-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-242\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/398\/2016\/03\/Return-Of-The-Jedi-2-300x236.png\" alt=\"Return of the Jedi logo. Image sourced via google images.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Luke wants to bring his father back instead of punish him for the many wrongs he has done.<\/p>\n<p>Then there are the lovable Ewoks, diminutive creatures from Endor, who help the Alliance force back the Empire&#8217;s clutch on the galaxy.<\/p>\n<p>We know what happens, but maybe <em>Return of the Jedi<\/em> is the movie to see, again, as New Year\u2019s is a time to focus on the good.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Return of the Jedi (1983) is a good movie to herald in the New Year.
