This small blue tang fish finds herself completely and utterly abandoned.<\/p>\n<p>The moments before there was help from her friends, but in a \u2018change of tide\u2019, she gets lost from her band of supporters. This is\u00a0a moment where she must have experienced a sense of lost-ness in the world. The moment where there is nowhere to turn and the stuff going through the head-space\u2014for this talking, thinking fish\u2014is in circles. She is going nowhere.<\/p>\n<h4>No more no return<\/h4>\n<p>Getting told to \u201cget lost\u201d isn\u2019t as bad as being lost. Being lost is like being in a moment of no return. There seems no way forward. \u00a0In this moment, there is anxiety, because there isn\u2019t a foreseeable way out.<\/p>\n<p>Dory could drown in those emotions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1353\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1353\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/lifeatthemovies\/files\/2016\/11\/Finding-Dory-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1353\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/398\/2016\/11\/Finding-Dory-2-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"(Image sourced via google images). \" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1353\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Image sourced via google images).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s just a moment. If living in this moment would last, it would be unbearable. So, getting out of this moment is kind of what should be done. Don\u2019t want to live unbearable no more.<\/p>\n<p>Sure enough, the moment also has a sense of hope. Remember, Dory is not alone. Dory: take a minute and think. What\u2019s around you? The ocean\u2019s around you. The beautiful ocean. The light streaming in from the sun lights up the waters. There\u2019s tranquility.\u00a0In her moment of crisis, there are still the wide arms of the ocean surrounding her.<\/p>\n<p>When an event passes which must have filled her with anxiety, what\u2019s out there is the teeming ocean filled with the breadth and depth of life.<\/p>\n<p>Sensing this life may comfort her from her sense of lost-ness and abandonment.
