My Dad, me and Caidin in 2005<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I want to take a minute to honor my Dad who passed away in 2008.<\/p>\n

For 40 some years he was a dentist with a private practice and played a great role at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo where he saw patients and mentored the dental students.<\/p>\n

He touched so many people, right down to the nurses who cared for him the last three days while he was in the hospital.<\/p>\n

I was thinking about the lessons I learned from my dad and I wanted to share them with you.<\/p>\n

He taught me these things not by sitting me down and lecturing by being a living example.
\n<\/p>\n

He taught me that no matter how I feel inside never take it out on others. If I feel grumpy, it’s a reason to be even nicer.<\/p>\n

He taught me to greet people when you see them, whether you know them or not.<\/p>\n

He taught me to take interest in the lives of others.<\/p>\n

He taught me to laugh and if things are going bad, laugh even more.<\/p>\n

He taught me that everything can be eased by telling a really bad joke.<\/p>\n

He taught me to love learning.<\/p>\n

He taught me to love freely.<\/p>\n

He taught me to love deeply.<\/p>\n

He taught me to love what I do and do what I love.<\/p>\n

And he taught me to live honestly and to never have anything to regret.<\/p>\n

I know that my dad had a profound impact on not only me, but also on so many who knew him.<\/p>\n

It was Albert Einstein who said, “Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children\u00a0<\/span>and the younger generation.”<\/p>\n

With that I know Dad will live on for years to come.<\/p>\n
