It has a powerful healing nature based in its carminative (ability to break up gas) and anti-bacterial\u00a0and anti-fungal properties.<\/p>\n<p>In ancient times, because of its healing properties, cinnamon was invaluable and considered as valualbe as gold or silver.<\/p>\n<p>When we get sick today, we don\u2019t think of our pantry as a source of healing, yet there it is, just waiting for us to recognize its powerful abilities to help us and support us.<\/p>\n<p>When Caidin or I start to feel flu-ish or experience any kind of stomach upset, I brew up some cinnamon tea. Not only does it provide healing support, its wonderful aroma is emotionally uplifting.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are several ways to access the healing properties of cinnamon:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cinnamon Tea:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cold and Flu &#8211; Drink cinnamon tea to help relieve the symptoms of cold and flu. Cinnamon helps to increase circulation, combats bacteria and virus and soothes stomach upset.<\/p>\n<p>Diarrhea \u2013 Drink cinnamon tea to help relieve diarrhea. Both its ability to break up gas and it\u2019s anti-bacterial\/anti-fungal properties come into play here.<\/p>\n<p>Nausea \u2013 Drink cinnamon tea to settle the stomach.<\/p>\n<p>Sooth aches and pains \u2013 Drink cinnamon tea to soothe aches and pains. Cinnamon blocks the production of prostaglandins which create inflammation, pain and fever.<\/p>\n<p>Combat E. Coli (Escherichia coli bacteria) \u2013 Whether present in intestinally or in the urinary tract, Cinnamon can effectively combat E. Coli as found in a 1999 Kansas State University study (<a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/1999\/aug\/06\/news\/mn-63242\">http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/1999\/aug\/06\/news\/mn-63242<\/a>). \u2018Cinnamon contains a compound that has the ability to kill bacteria,&#8221; Daniel Y.C.
