Selfishness has many forms; and there are many parts of us that do not want us to even suspect how deep and dark run their immoral fiber.<\/p>\n
I had an email from a student saying that there are some things in her spiritual work that she can’t agree to do because to do so would make her a hypocrite. Seems there are certain areas in her life where she “fails miserably”\u2026and to try and help someone else grow in this same area would be a “lie” as she feels so inadequate in the same. That thought is a “Trojan wooden horse.” It seems moral, wise, and even considerate\u2026when, in truth, it is secretly masking a soul-corrupting lie.<\/p>\n
No one is good; no one has Light of his or her own\u2026period. We are reflections of a living Light that have been led to believe (by yet another wooden horse) that we have life and light of our own. And that’s why, to the mind so compromised, it makes perfect sense to think: “By the light in me, I see how dark I am\u2026and so it would be wrong to step up and be of service in any way I can.”<\/p>\n
But, here’s the truth: this darkness in us knows that if we try to help another (or ourselves, for that matter) — in whatever area — while working with and from what we presently are — that it will be further drawn out into the light it detests; it will be exposed for what it is, as well as where it hides\u2026which is the same as spelling the end of its hold on our heart. And THAT’S why we avoid doing what we do\u2026<\/p>\n
The Light fears no darkness, and never fears anything that the darkness says is true about itself or the Light. The darkness is fear itself, because it “knows” that any form of light brought into it will reveal its essential nothingness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
