What is the value of being in command of our own life? Is it because people will acknowledge us as being some kind of strong, right, true person? Is there value in people looking at us and saying flattering things? Or, is the value of being in command of our own life simply that we’re in command of our own life? That when we’re home, all kinds of wolves can come to the door and knock, blow, and pound, and they don’t knock the house down because we live in something that by its very presence prohibits us from being punished by certain thoughts and feelings.<\/p>\n
When we’re in command of ourselves, we don’t say cruel things to other human beings. When we’re in command of ourselves, we’re never in a hurry. When we’re in command of ourselves, fear can’t find a home inside of us. But we want to be royalty. We want to snap our fingers, to be in charge of things, because we equate the idea of being in command of the world around us as the same thing as being in command of ourselves, and it clearly is not.<\/p>\n
Imagine a man who is in command of himself to the point where he is not punished by ambition, or fear of not succeeding according to the values of his social system. Imagine a woman who is in command of herself to the extent that she can’t fall into a depression. That <\/em>is <\/em>command.<\/em><\/p>\n How nice would it be if wherever you went, under any circumstances, regardless of what was taking place, you were at ease? Because where you have confidence, you have someone who is at ease with himself, and where you have someone who has command, you have a person who is no longer trying to do something to make the world the way she wants it. He lives in a world in which everything he wants is already there. She doesn’t have to try to change things. Interiorly he is awake in himself, and because of that, he is in command of the things that steal command from him.<\/p>\n Having confidence in a moment of trial, of being in command when there is conflict, are states natural <\/em>to any man and any woman who is in right relationship with the Truth itself.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the value of being in command of our own life?
