I hope that you entered 2013 smiling and feeling love. I’m excited that today is day 1 of Self-Love Month. What better way to start a new year than to find ways to say, “I love me” every day of the month? What’s even better is when you enjoy it a loth, you’ll want to continue to find more ways throughout the whole year! I’ll have at least one post on building self-love very day of the month.

January can be a tough month for people to get through. After the rush of the holiday season, this darker, colder winter month can be a bit of a downer. Social activities slow down as people recover from a hectic December. Money may be tighter after holiday spending. Holiday parties are over. Holiday weight gain may be on your mind. I don’t like having so much less sunshine and the weather isn’t conducive for me to do many outdoor activities.

That’s why January is a perfect time to focus on being more loving to yourself. Why not start the year feeling good instead of let down after all the holiday activities? Now is the time to put your energy into doing kind and loving things for YOU. Make yourself feel good. Do things that improve your health and well-being. My January mantra is “Focus on Self.” This doesn’t mean ignoring other people but it does mean making yourself and your desires and needs important.

Have you pledged to take my 31 Days of Self-Love Commitment yet—to do something loving for yourself on every day of January? II hope that you’ll enjoy this consciousness after the 31st day and continue to be loving to you as the year progresses. The more you do for you, the more you’ll feel good. The more you feel good, the more you’ll want to do and the stronger your self-love will become. That can carry it through to the whole year and beyond

Today is the first day of 2013 and the first day of the rest of your life. Loving yourself is YOUR choice. Do one kind thing that puts a smile on your face today. Then do something else loving for you tomorrow. It doesn’t have to be major. Cut yourself some slack. Stop and take a few deep breaths. Go for a walk. Spend time with a good friend. Make time to read. Whatever makes you feel good says, “I love me!” Here’s a short video I made which will emphasize my points. I wish all of you w very blessed and self-loving 2013!

***************

Join The Self-Love Movement™! Let Me Count the Ways, a She's appeared on hundreds of TV and radio shows, including Oprah, Howard Stern, and Good Morning America and has been quoted in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Marie Claire, and Men¹s Health. After being a consummate People Pleaser who felt unworthy of getting her own needs met for many years, Daylle found a path of self-love that enabled her to build her self-esteem and reinvent herself into a dual career. She learned to get taken seriously without being overtly assertive when she became one of the first women to start an independent record label (on a dare!) and learned to play ball nicely and successfully in an industry dominated by men. To help independent musicians empower themselves, Daylle writes music business books for Billboard/Random House, including the very popular Start & Run Your Own Record Labe and I Don't Need a Record Deal! Daylle's books have been translated into over 10 languages and are popular around the world. She speaks for colleges, organizations and corporations. Through her company, Project Self-Empowerment, Daylle creates programs and materials to help people empower themselves. One goal is to raise the money to self-publish her book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways and give it away for free in colleges and through organizations, to give thanks for all her blessings. Daylle uses her writing and speaking to help others find the kind of contentment and empowerment that she has.
["GET
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/3802/revisions
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/3802/revisions/3807
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?post=3802
