Even guys can learn from her since everyone has some insecurity. Here’s what Kenetia has to say:

Staying Grounded in Your Awesomeness
By Kenetia Lee

Do you ever stop and listen to the things you say to yourself on a daily basis? Do you find your inner voice to be empowering, negative, or a random mix of both? Mine is usually a random mix of both, depending on my mood, but I’ve noticed that when I start my day with a couple of reminders of how? awesome my life is, my empowering inner voice tends to stick with me throughout my day. Here are a few of the affirmations that I use on a daily basis that keep me grounded in the truth about how amazing I really am.

??1. You are more than your hair. This actually came from the song “I Am Not My Hair” by India Arie. Check it out if you have never heard it. I know we women have a lot of anxiety around our mane. Our hair can be a source of our strength, but oftentimes that is very difficult to remember, especially if it is hard to manage. This affirmation really puts a smile on my face because it reminds me that I am more than just my exterior.

2. My happiness is a choice. Who doesn’t want to be happy? I’ve yet to meet the person that doesn’t want to be happy. With so much negativity in the world, this affirmation reminds me that I have a choice of how I want to feel. You, too, have a choice!

3. This body is my temple. When I think of a temple, I am reminded of all the great sanctuaries of the world and how beautiful they are kept and the sacred space that people hold when they go to visit them. Saying this affirmation keeps me present to honoring my physical body just as I would any other holy place. I find myself eating better, reading and listening to things that will uplift me, and surrounding myself with others that will feed my soul.

4. My vision is greater than my eyesight. This reminds me to not get overwhelmed with my current circumstances and see beyond what is right in front of me. Holding my vision keeps me grounded when life throws me curve balls. Whether you are working on your master plan to become a billionaire, lose a few pounds, or finishing a manuscript, keep present to your vision and this will pull you through.

??5. I am… This one changes daily for me because I fill in the dot, dot, dot with the quality I most want to express for that day. Most days I am LOVE. Other days I am COURAGE, or HARMONY, PEACE, FUN, FORGIVENESS, ROCK STAR, etc. I love this affirmation because it is fluid. Only use it to be kind to you and fulfill on your highest expression of yourself.

So if you ever see me and I’m not in a good space, you have my permission to repeat one of these affirmations to me. Not only will you get me to smile, I’ll reach out and give you a hug. Be encouraged on this day.
***************

Take the 31 Days of Self-Love Challenge and get my book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways, a She's appeared on hundreds of TV and radio shows, including Oprah, Howard Stern, and Good Morning America and has been quoted in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Marie Claire, and Men¹s Health. After being a consummate People Pleaser who felt unworthy of getting her own needs met for many years, Daylle found a path of self-love that enabled her to build her self-esteem and reinvent herself into a dual career. She learned to get taken seriously without being overtly assertive when she became one of the first women to start an independent record label (on a dare!) and learned to play ball nicely and successfully in an industry dominated by men. To help independent musicians empower themselves, Daylle writes music business books for Billboard/Random House, including the very popular Start & Run Your Own Record Labe and I Don't Need a Record Deal! Daylle's books have been translated into over 10 languages and are popular around the world. She speaks for colleges, organizations and corporations. Through her company, Project Self-Empowerment, Daylle creates programs and materials to help people empower themselves. One goal is to raise the money to self-publish her book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways and give it away for free in colleges and through organizations, to give thanks for all her blessings. Daylle uses her writing and speaking to help others find the kind of contentment and empowerment that she has.
["GET
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/2830/revisions
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/2830/revisions/2911
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?post=2830
