Here’s what he has to say:

Proven Strategies to Achieve Your Goals
By Siimon Reynolds

You made your New Year’s resolutions a few weeks ago. So, how’s your progress so far? If you’re like most people, you might need some encouragement. If that’s the case, here are some proven strategies to help you achieve your goals:

Be Accountable. If you have a big goal for 2012 tell people about it. That way you’ll be more likely to follow through. Even better, arrange with a friend to report to each other how you went with your goals, at the end of every day. That way you can keep each other motivated and on track.

Do Your Most Important Task First. We’re all so busy we sometimes never get to the goals that really count. The best solution for this is to make sure you always do your most important task at the start of the workday. Not only will you make much more progress, you’ll feel fantastic all day long.

??Train Your Brain. Spend a few minutes every morning ‘seeing’ yourself achieving your goal in your mind. Make it like a movie (you can even play your favorite song to make the picture more vibrant.) Research shows we often become what we visualize.

Plan Your Day. You’ll get twice as much done if you take 5 minutes at the start of the day to plan your schedule. Write down your list of To Do’s then write an ‘A’ next to the most important tasks. Then write a ‘B’ next to the less important tasks, and a ‘C’ next to those tasks that don’t really matter. Then train yourself to do the A’s first. With just this method alone you’ll get more done in a week than most people do in a month.

Be Your Own Coach. We all talk to ourselves at times, but many of us are far too self critical. Try talking to yourself each day as if you are your own life coach. Be positive, supportive and uplifting. But demand high standards from yourself. When you change your self talk so that its always positive, you’ll quickly improve your results.

Regulate Your Life. The mind likes order. So try to regulate as many aspects of your life as you can. Get up at the same time of the day, and go to bed around the same time too. Exercise at pre-set times each week, eat at roughly the same time and do you work between set time periods. By making your life more orderly you’ll start to feel much more in control and happier.

Set Deadlines. According to Parkinsons’s Law, ‘Work expands to fill the time allotted for it’. In other words, if you give yourself a lot of time to do something, you’ll use all of that time. It’s better to give yourself short deadlines to get your tasks done, rather than race through them. By giving yourself real deadlines, you’ll be much more efficient, get your work done faster and achieve many more of your goals for 2012 and beyond.
*********************
Check out Siimon Reynolds‘ book, Why People Fail: The 16 Obstacles To Success And How You Can Overcome Them,

*********************

Take the 31 Days of Self-Love Challenge and get my book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways, a She's appeared on hundreds of TV and radio shows, including Oprah, Howard Stern, and Good Morning America and has been quoted in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Marie Claire, and Men¹s Health. After being a consummate People Pleaser who felt unworthy of getting her own needs met for many years, Daylle found a path of self-love that enabled her to build her self-esteem and reinvent herself into a dual career. She learned to get taken seriously without being overtly assertive when she became one of the first women to start an independent record label (on a dare!) and learned to play ball nicely and successfully in an industry dominated by men. To help independent musicians empower themselves, Daylle writes music business books for Billboard/Random House, including the very popular Start & Run Your Own Record Labe and I Don't Need a Record Deal! Daylle's books have been translated into over 10 languages and are popular around the world. She speaks for colleges, organizations and corporations. Through her company, Project Self-Empowerment, Daylle creates programs and materials to help people empower themselves. One goal is to raise the money to self-publish her book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways and give it away for free in colleges and through organizations, to give thanks for all her blessings. Daylle uses her writing and speaking to help others find the kind of contentment and empowerment that she has.
["GET
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/2764/revisions
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/2764/revisions/2768
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?post=2764
