She does know she wants those things but sees her life as based on struggling with feeling like she has too little time to take care of her obligations to others as it and feeling fat. She doesn’t see how she can make any more demands for things like self-fulfillment or self-appreciation.

I’ve written a lot about how the words you use attract your situation. She sees herself struggling, time-deprived and unable to attract the state of being she says she wants. I could feel her pain in the words she used. Pain attracts pain. Getting caught up in struggling feels awful. It makes you unhappy. And remember, the Universe responds to your emotions. No matter how much you say you want peace, self-love and happiness, feeling negative emotions about them keeps it out of reach. Negative emotions attract negative situations. Positive emotions attract positive situations.

Seeing life as a struggle reinforces your life as a struggle. Seeing it as challenges you can overcome helps you empower yourself to have a better life.

And she struggles to build self-love. That in itself is unloving! Peace, self-love and happiness are wonderful and promote positive emotions. Seeing them in a negative light—another struggle to achieve—will keep you from having them. Self-love is about treating yourself lovingly. It should NEVER feel like a struggle. The struggle is really getting out of your own way to allow love in.

When you see life as a struggle, it is. When you see life as a loving experience, it can become that way.

Self-love and struggle do NOT go together. Self-love feels good. I advise you to stop seeing having good in your life as another chore on you overfilled to-do list. Instead, commit to a short time each day to be kind to you. It can be as simple as taking a few minutes to do some deep breathing with your eyes closed, or take a short walk or take a guilt-free bath or read a book or something that makes you feel good, not that feels like a chore. Allow yourself to enjoy it during that time!

Take my self-love challenge and read my book, How Do I Love Me? Once you do, commit to small acts of self-love. Let go of one obligation that isn’t mandatory to give yourself free time. Let Me Count the Ways, a She's appeared on hundreds of TV and radio shows, including Oprah, Howard Stern, and Good Morning America and has been quoted in dozens of publications, including the New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Marie Claire, and Men¹s Health. After being a consummate People Pleaser who felt unworthy of getting her own needs met for many years, Daylle found a path of self-love that enabled her to build her self-esteem and reinvent herself into a dual career. She learned to get taken seriously without being overtly assertive when she became one of the first women to start an independent record label (on a dare!) and learned to play ball nicely and successfully in an industry dominated by men. To help independent musicians empower themselves, Daylle writes music business books for Billboard/Random House, including the very popular Start & Run Your Own Record Labe and I Don't Need a Record Deal! Daylle's books have been translated into over 10 languages and are popular around the world. She speaks for colleges, organizations and corporations. Through her company, Project Self-Empowerment, Daylle creates programs and materials to help people empower themselves. One goal is to raise the money to self-publish her book, How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways and give it away for free in colleges and through organizations, to give thanks for all her blessings. Daylle uses her writing and speaking to help others find the kind of contentment and empowerment that she has.
["GET
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/1545/revisions
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/1545/revisions/1558
https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/lessonsfromarecoveringdoormat/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?post=1545
