The joy and comfort that come when those little melodies surface, especially during the dark or hard moments in my story, scripture songs have been an encouragement for me over the years.”

The EP concludes with a new version of the Amy Grant classic, “Thy Word – Psalm 119,” which she shared through a post on social media recently.

“What I love about this verse is that it’s such a simple metaphor. God’s word is a lamp. When we are stumbling, struggling, lost, confused, lonely, exhausted, and at the end of rope in a dark night of the soul, there is a lantern we can hold. It may not reveal the whole grand journey ahead of us, but it will give us light for the next right thing.”

For eight years, Holcomb recorded and toured full-time with her husband’s band, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, before stepping off the road when her first child was born. In 2021, she released her third full-length solo project, “Canyon,” to much acclaim, earning her a second Top 10 radio single with the song, “I Will Carry You.”

At the most recent GMA Dove Awards, Holcomb was honored for Children’s Recorded Song of the Year for “Sounding Joy” from her Christmas project, “Sing: Christmas Songs.” Holcomb has released the children’s books “Who Sang the First Song,” “Don’t Forget to Remember” and “Sounding Joy,” also the name of her Christmas EP and award-winning song.

“I was reading this quote about Christmas from Ann Voskamp and it says, ‘The gift of Christmas is that we who were barren are gifted a child who lets us laugh with relief for all of eternity.’ And that’s what we celebrate (at the Dove Awards).
