Worship artist Brandon Lake, recently awarded Male Artist of the Year at the K-Love Fan Awards, teamed with his wife Brittany to extend his message to younger audiences. The couple\u2019s new children\u2019s book \u201cLittle Lion Lungs\u201d released this month during a whirlwind media tour including a concert on Fox & Friends Live. For the couple, it\u2019s part of a trend they\u2019ve noticed in his concerts\u2014multi-generational worshippers.<\/p>\n

Music is Multigenerational<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy music reaches literally every generation,\u201d he commented. \u201cI\u2019ve got so many kids coming to my shows as well as my last show in Charleston, someone was saying there was a row of people in their 80s who were sitting most of the time. When I did the song, \u2018Count \u2018Em,\u2019 which is very rock and roll, they all stood up, like \u2018This is our favorite song!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

When the couple noticed so many kids coming to the shows and how the song \u201cGratitude\u201d connected with their young hearts, Brandon and Brittany knew \u201cLittle Lion Lungs\u201d would be a way to educate children on what worship really is.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven in their little size, they can still worship the Lord with their own hallelujah,\u201d he said. \u201cReally, that\u2019s what worship is\u2014expressing our love, our gratitude to God.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Tool For Children<\/h3>\n

The couple have three sons ages nine, seven and one. Brittany said \u201cIt\u2019s been really cool to let them be a part of this,\u201d adding that their oldest took the book to school to read to classmates: \u201cI just feel like it\u2019s a tool for children.\u201d Before bed every night, the Lakes tell their boys to \u201cget your last bit of energy out\u201d and the book encourages that, too, telling readers to \u201cLet out your roar \u2013 it\u2019s time to let your voice soar \u2013 on the count of three!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s super fun,\u201d Brandon added. \u201cOur kids love it and we think a lot of others will as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brittany says Brandon has always included her in the ministry, even when no one knew. The couple\u2019s motto is that \u201cfamily is our first ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I can truly say is that, from year one, Brandon has done a really good job, making me feel like, even if I\u2019m not physically there, my presence is there, because I am his other half,\u201d she said. \u201cI think we learned those tools; how to make others feel valued through ministry very young.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grateful for Brittany<\/h3>\n

As a united ministry couple, Brandon said he is grateful for Brittany\u2019s support and discernment, helping guide him through the past few years of runaway success.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s such a protector, which is so valuable for me, because a lot of people want to claim to success or influence and not all those people are innocent, or not every invitation I get is one I should say yes to,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, I kind of jokingly say I have a I have a second Holy Spirit, I got the Holy Spirit. But then I got Brittany. And oftentimes the Holy Spirit, he uses Brittany to to affirm things. She has the most discernment in our home and our family.\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019re Going To Minister To The Lord<\/h3>\n

The couple\u2019s faith in miracles and healing extends to Brandon\u2019s concerts, where he will frequently stop the music for a moment to pray for an individual. He says that emphasis is inspired by Brittany, who has the generosity of spirit and compassion.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead of saying \u2018I\u2019ll pray for you later,\u2019 it\u2019s like \u2018Now, I want to pray for you. I want to slow things down, but we\u2019re going to take a moment to minister to the one,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to minister to the Lord and we\u2019re going to minister to each other. And that\u2019s the church. That\u2019s what you read about in the book of Acts.\u201d<\/p>\n

With a recent highly successful \u201cTear Off the Roof\u201d tour, the \u201cSummer Worship Nights\u201d tour with Phil Wickham and even a cruise next summer, Brandon is humbled and grateful for the opportunity to share his family\u2019s songs and message with the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life verse is Ephesians 3:20<\/a>, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than anything you could ask, think or imagine,\u201d he said. \u201cI asked him for a lot less than this, and he has exceeded that and much more. It\u2019s just been insane.\u201d<\/p>\n
