Peace!&#8221; But there is no peace&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Thus said the Lord: Stand on the roads and see; ask about the various paths of history, which path is best, and walk on it and find solace for your soul.<\/p>\n<p>But they said, &#8220;We will not walk.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>Of course, the false prophets were mistaken (6:22-23). There was indeed a looming threat that soon overtook them and everyone else:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"webkit-indent-blockquote\"><p>Thus said the Lord: Behold, a people is coming from the land of the North, a great nation will rouse itself from the ends of the earth.
