It turns out that the prison has a Bible College and a chapel near death row funded by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse. The prison, once known as one of the bloodiest prisons in the south has become something rather different now – one of the least violent. When asked about the change, the warden said faith has played a big role in it. 2,000 of the 5,700 prisoners have given their lives to Jesus, he said, and that makes a difference.
