What a follow-up to the Joshua Bell story.<\/a> In that story, while the world famous violinist gave a free concert in the Metro, people were focused more intently on the lottery tickets.

Now this story <\/a>about a $315 million lotter winner. Five years later this:<\/p>\n

Whittaker believes that money isn’t what makes people happy \u2014 family is.<\/p>\n

“Family is what is dear,” he said. “I don’t know where it’ll end. But you know, I just don’t like Jack Whittaker. I don’t like the hard heart I’ve got. I don’t like what I’ve become.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Imagine that, a man wins $315 million and says, “I don’t like what I’ve become.” It isn’t actually very surprising is it? To a degree we can all relate. How many times has the new raise that was going to make us so happy not made us happy? Or how many times has that financial gift (no matter how big or small) not done what we needed or wanted it to?<\/p>\n
