T<\/strong>here’s so much to say about 2010; the whos, the whats, the shenanigans<\/p>\n

So let’s look back one more time and remember the year in “Dr. Seuss” rhyme<\/p>\n

We all felt the earthquake in Porta au Prince, and then dear old Pat Robertson<\/a> made us all wince<\/p>\n

By declaring poor Haiti had made a pact with the devil; how low can Pat go<\/em> hit a whole nutha<\/em> level<\/p>\n

Dr. Dobson retired<\/a><\/p>\n

Or perhaps he expired<\/p>\n

Or maybe James knew that even God had grown tired<\/p>\n

Of hearing his mix<\/p>\n

Of advice\/politics<\/p>\n

And I guess he decided to find a new shtick…<\/p>\n

Now that Dobson was gone and Pat declared crazy, I’m sure some fundies thought their future looked hazy<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

But up from the depths of “godless” Seattle, AT-PastorMark<\/a> emerged aching for battle<\/p>\n

In a cage against “buds”?<\/a> (Does he just wear a toga?) Or against the demons of hell who created Avatar<\/em><\/a> and yoga<\/a><\/p>\n

And though he jams to Jay Z<\/a> and shouts the word “pissed,” I still think that Mark is “fundamentalist”<\/p>\n

When Nashville got flooded, the Church became super; and look who was interviewed by Anderson Cooper<\/a><\/p>\n

Francis Chan sold more books<\/p>\n

Tobymac rapped more hooks<\/p>\n

And at Rick’s church on Easter, Jonas Bros. showed off their good looks<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking of Rick, he finally found Twitter<\/a> and took to it just like a cat takes to litter<\/p>\n

America’s Pastor tweeted wise and tweeted sweet, but then all hell broke loose over one little Tweet<\/a><\/p>\n

Tim Tebow wooed the ladies<\/a><\/p>\n

And THIS HERE is shady<\/a><\/p>\n

And THIS MAN no doubt will be single at 80<\/a><\/p>\n

Jon Acuff <\/a>released Stuff Christians Like<\/em>; and @Flowerdust<\/a> rode across country on bike<\/p>\n

Regarding Anne Jackson<\/a>, we know she’s an author; but please, for God’s sake, don’t call her “a blogger<\/a>”<\/p>\n

Jesus burned to the ground in the Buckeye State<\/a> and “God’s Judgment” was given a another due date<\/a><\/p>\n

There was that Florida man with Yosemite Sam’s stache who threatened to turn the Koran into ash<\/a><\/p>\n

Palin and Gosselin were called ‘Sisters in Christ’<\/a>; but then who left the “family”? Author Anne Rice<\/a>!<\/p>\n

And like years before, Jesus got spotted, his face and his body imperfectly dotted<\/p>\n

On pots and on stumps and pecked into trees, his name frightfully printed on ugly black tees<\/a><\/p>\n

Jennifer Knapp emerged from the closet<\/a>, and on Stephen Baldwin’s behalf, a site begged for depo$it$<\/a><\/p>\n

2010 brought the perfect church cheer<\/a>; it also brought Newt Gingrich’s movie of fear<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Rachel Held Evans wrote about monkeys<\/a>, and for the sake of Jesus, some Christians got funky<\/a><\/p>\n

David Platt got Radical<\/em><\/p>\n

Tithing turned fanatical <\/a><\/p>\n

And some of the Jesus Junk we made was really quite tragical <\/a><\/p>\n

Jason Boyett<\/a> wrote about doubt<\/p>\n

And Oral Roberts’ grandson came out<\/a><\/p>\n

Some things that happened<\/a> we don’t know what they were about<\/p>\n

And for better and worse, I think you’ll agree; when things go south I thank God there’s plan B (or Plan B<\/a><\/em>?<\/a>)<\/p>\n

But here’s what I know, it’s easy to poke fun; but changing the tide is easier said then done<\/p>\n

All of us are capable of bringing hell or bringing heaven; so here’s to hoping for peaceful 2011<\/p>\n
