So this afternoon Rick Warren<\/a>–you know, Good Morning America<\/em>‘s pastor–tweeted the following message to his followers…<\/p>\n

I challenge any church in America to match the spiritual maturity, godliness & commitment of any 500 members of Saddleback.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

YES! YES! YES! (NOTE TO SELF: Choose 500 infants.)<\/p>\n

Rick wants to start a Church Olympics!! Praise the Lord. Churches already love waving flags, so an Olympic competition will be a natural fit, like hand-bell ringing.<\/p>\n

We will definitely have to compete in Synchronized Sign Language of I Can Only Imagine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Bible does say run the race! Why can’t we synchronize the sign language? And then compete to see who does it the best. We could have holiness competitions (though I’m pretty sure the Southern Baptists already do that). There could be Tough Pastor Competition–I’d love to see Ricky go against Pastor Marky<\/a>. That would be HOT <\/span>Awesome!<\/p>\n

So yeah, about the Tweet… Ricky’s tweet didn’t sit too well with the Christians of Twitterland. They became restless. Some were sad. Some welcomed the challenge. Some cried “pride”! Some declared EGO! Some demanded an apology!!<\/p>\n

Some lost their purpose to live. (And some are rumored to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas, too.)<\/p>\n

I tweeted: Cue tiny church w\/slingshot.<\/em><\/p>\n

But seriously, people twucified poor Rick.<\/p>\n

The above mentioned Tweet does seem sort of odd, and I’m hoping it’s all a big misunderstanding. Perhaps he was out doing some yard work again and a plant or bush spit its nasty venom at him! (That happened to him a few weeks ago–he was blind for a couple days.)<\/p>\n

I’m hoping he either untweets his tweet or tweets a supporting tweet to help us understand his random self-glorifying 140 characters…<\/p>\n

The world waits.<\/p>\n

Haha. Not really. But a lot of Christians are waiting.<\/p>\n
