As most of you know, Pete Wilson<\/a> is my friend and pastor. When he asked me to endorse his first book Plan B, I happily accepted. Here’s what I wrote…<\/p>\n

“While reading Plan B<\/em>, I cheered, wept, and rediscovered parts of my faith that I’d long given up on finding. Like a conversation with an old friend, Pete Wilson’s reflections about God and life are engaging, sensitive, and moving. As far as I’m concerned, if you’re working on plan A, Plan B<\/em> is a good prerequisite.”<\/p>\n

I wrote this post below several months ago. But since Pete’s book is now available to purchase, I thought I’d reprint it…<\/strong><\/p>\n

My pastor\/friend, Pete Wilson<\/a>, is preparing to release his first book, Plan B<\/em><\/a>, in May.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m so excited for people to experience Pete\u2019s book\u2013not just because Pete is my pastor and friend, but because the \u201cPete\u201d who tells stories, shares thoughts, and laments his own pain\/hardships in Plan B<\/a>\"\"<\/em> is the same \u201cPete\u201d I know and love in real life. Now, Pete\u2019s not perfect, and what I find refreshing is that he doesn\u2019t even strive to be perfect. He\u2019s just Pete.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what I love about him.<\/p>\n

Pete is the first \u201cpastor\u201d who knows my whole story\u2013the good, bad, and medicated. As my pastor, but mostly my friend, he\u2019s walked with me through the crashing down of my own \u201cplan As\u201d and the journey toward settling into the uncomfortable realities of my \u201cplan Bs.\u201d He and I don\u2019t always agree on theology, but that\u2019s okay when you trust somebody. And I trust Pete. Not \u201cput-him-on-a-pedestal\u201d kind of trust. Human trust. Friend trust. Speak-in-to-my-life trust. Call-me-out trust. The kind of trust that comes with grace, hope, conversation and kindness. Because grace without hope, conversation, and kindness most often isn\u2019t grace, but rather an unintentional fear tactic.<\/p>\n

So far, the grace Pete has shown me hasn\u2019t aged me.<\/p>\n

I feel honored to have Pete in my life, and am praying that thousands of people will get to experience his simplicity, kindness, and wisdom in Plan B<\/em><\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
