Psalm 19 is a miniature version of Psalm 119.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Vv. 7-9 praise the Torah\/Word of God and here are the attributes of the Torah:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Perfect<\/div>\n
Preserves life<\/div>\n
Reliable<\/div>\n
Imparts wisdom<\/div>\n
Fair<\/div>\n
Joy-making<\/div>\n
Pure <\/div>\n
Insightful<\/div>\n
Right<\/div>\n
Endure forever<\/div>\n
Trustworthy <\/div>\n
Just<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The word “Torah” or “law” can refer to words of the prophets and theologians and the Torah itself and to Genesis – Deuteronomy, and thus to the Story of Israel. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The one who meditates on the Torah\/Word of God day and night, as the sun chases across the sky, learns the truth of these words.<\/div>\n

Psalms 19<\/h1>\n
Psalm 19<\/div>\n

For the music director; a psalm of David.<\/p>\n

19:1<\/span> The heavens declare the glory of God;<\/p>\n

the sky displays his handiwork.<\/p>\n

19:2<\/span> Day after day it speaks out;<\/p>\n

night after night it reveals his greatness.<\/p>\n

19:3<\/span> There is no actual speech or word,<\/p>\n

nor is its voice literally heard.<\/p>\n

19:4<\/span> Yet its voice echoes throughout the earth;<\/p>\n

its words carry to the distant horizon.<\/p>\n

In the sky he has pitched a tent for the sun.<\/p>\n

19:5<\/span> Like a bridegroom it emerges from its chamber;<\/p>\n

like a strong man it enjoys running its course.<\/p>\n

19:6<\/span> It emerges from the distant horizon,<\/p>\n

and goes from one end of the sky to the other;<\/p>\n

nothing can escape its heat.<\/p>\n

19:7<\/span> The law of the Lord<\/span> is perfect<\/p>\n

and preserves one’s life.<\/p>\n

The rules set down by the Lord<\/span> are reliable<\/p>\n

and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.<\/p>\n

19:8<\/span> The Lord<\/span>‘s precepts are fair<\/p>\n

and make one joyful.<\/p>\n

The Lord<\/span>‘s commands are pure<\/p>\n

and give insight for life.<\/p>\n

19:9<\/span> The commands to fear the Lord<\/span> are right<\/p>\n

and endure forever.<\/p>\n

The judgments given by the Lord<\/span> are trustworthy<\/p>\n

and absolutely just.<\/p>\n

19:10<\/span> They are of greater value than gold,<\/p>\n

than even a great amount of pure gold;<\/p>\n

they bring greater delight than honey,<\/p>\n

than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb.<\/p>\n

19:11<\/span> Yes, your servant finds moral guidance there;<\/p>\n

those who obey them receive a rich reward.<\/p>\n

19:12<\/span> Who can know all his errors?<\/p>\n

Please do not punish me for sins I am unaware of.<\/p>\n

19:13<\/span> Moreover, keep me from committing flagrant sins;<\/p>\n

do not allow such sins to control me.<\/p>\n

Then I will be blameless,<\/p>\n

and innocent of blatant rebellion.<\/p>\n

19:14<\/span> May my words and my thoughts<\/p>\n

be acceptable in your sight,<\/p>\n
