His observations: the tongue-speaking is not as a result of wine-drinking; it is instead the act of God and this act of God was prophesied in Joel. This text explains the event as a God-shaped and God-directed event.<\/p>\n

” ‘In the last days, God says,
       I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
       Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
       your young men will see visions,
       your old men will dream dreams. <\/p>\n

    Even on my servants, both men and women,
       I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
       and they will prophesy<\/p>\n

  I will show wonders in the heaven above
       and signs on the earth below,
       blood and fire and billows of smoke. <\/p>\n

   The sun will be turned to darkness
       and the moon to blood
       before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. <\/p>\n

    And everyone who calls
       on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

1. The event shows we are in the “last days” — the salvation-historical fulfilment.
\n2. The event shows that God’s Spirit is now given to all — sons and daughters, young and old, men and women.
\n3. Wonders are being seen and they summon folks to believe — those who
\nbelieve will be saved. These wonders indicate cosmic witness to God’s
