I&#8217;m not sure Genesis 12 etc connects the covenant promises with justice, but by the time of Mary God&#8217;s faithfulness to that covenant &#8212; God being their God and they being God&#8217;s people &#8212; meant protection from unjust rulers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;margin-right: 0px;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-left: 0px;padding-top: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;line-height: 22px;font-family: arial, sans-serif !important;font-size: 14px !important\">This was especially true for the poor.
