Speaking of NPU, we soon begin <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northpark.edu\/home\/index.cfm?northpark=RNews.RNews_Story&amp;ID=2806\">Hispanic Month<\/a>. Which leads to a good story about my colleague and friend, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northpark.edu\/home\/index.cfm?northpark=RNews.RNews_Story&amp;ID=2826\">Boaz Johnson<\/a>.<br \/>\nPut <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ijminstitute.org\/\">this<\/a> on your must-read and must-follow sites (IJM).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.christianitytoday.com\/ctpolitics\/2008\/08\/the_best_thing.html\">Andy Crouch<\/a> writes an excellent piece about Sarah Palin and the unmonitored comments descend into a spiral of uncharitable and embarrassing attempts to score points. By the way, this is not a criticism at all of Andy or CT; it&#8217;s a criticism of the problem of Christians who refuse to comment with civility.<br \/>\nSpeaking of civility, I love this piece by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/biblestudies\/areas\/biblestudies\/articles\/080827.html\">John Ortberg<\/a>. And <a href=\"http:\/\/eugenecho.wordpress.com\/2008\/09\/02\/rules-of-christian-civility-in-politics\/\">Eugene Cho has five principles for civility<\/a>. Bingo! that&#8217;s the way to do it.<br \/>\nHere&#8217;s yet another form of civility:<a href=\"http:\/\/tallskinnykiwi.typepad.com\/tallskinnykiwi\/2008\/09\/emerging-chur-1.html\"> TSK<\/a> will no longer use the word &#8220;emerging church&#8221; for what he is doing.<br \/>\nDave Dunbar&#8217;s new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblical.edu\/pages\/resources\/missional-journal.html\">Missional Journal<\/a> study: an excellent example of what it means to missional and it can quicken our churches.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dankimball.com\/vintage_faith\/2008\/09\/emerging-and-em.html\">Dan Kimball and I agree<\/a>: there is a distinction, an important one, between emergent village and the emerging movement. I see this as an analytical difference, not a friendship or fellowship issue. <a href=\"http:\/\/godhungry.org\/?p=1065\">Jim Martin on Frederik Buechner<\/a>. What about obsessions? Read <a href=\"http:\/\/daddyroblog.blogs.com\/daddyroblog\/2008\/09\/obsession.html\">Fr Rob<\/a>. Michael Spencer &#8212; iMonk &#8212; did a post on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internetmonk.com\/archive\/open-thread-so-where-does-a-baptist-go-for-spiritual-formation\">sources for spiritual formation<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/jibstay.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/marthas-opening.html\">Martha Johnson&#8217;s opening<\/a> for her art at Westmont. I sometimes wonder if <a href=\"http:\/\/jibstay.blogspot.com\/2008\/08\/remember.html\">the fine displays at Montecito Covenant<\/a> might be Martha&#8217;s doing. The topic of race and voting has become an issue and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reclaimingthemission.com\/\">David Fitch&#8217;s response to Anthony Smith&#8217;s post<\/a> is worth some careful pondering. (I will probably begin a series soon on racism.) How blogging influences us (<a href=\"http:\/\/seedlingsinstone.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/for-better-for-worse-5-ways-blogging.html\">LL Barkat<\/a>). And here&#8217;s one way blogging is influencing us &#8212; pray for <a href=\"http:\/\/spearszacharias.bravejournal.com\/entry\/27528\/\">Connie and Ed<\/a>. Gotta love <a href=\"http:\/\/tallskinnykiwi.typepad.com\/tallskinnykiwi\/2008\/09\/coolest-bus-in.html\">this picture<\/a>.
