<\/span><span>&nbsp; <\/span><br \/>\nFor example, when we read passages like Nehemiah 1 or Daniel 9 we discover two men confessing the sins of their people.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>What does it mean to know these passages?<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Is it to have a cognitive understanding of them or should be able to do what these men are doing?<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Jazzaneutics pushes towards the doing as asks the basic question, <u>\u201cWhen was the last time you confessed the sins of your people?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN\"><span>Or take Acts 17.16-34 where Paul is able to present the gospel by connecting it to the poetry, spirituality and philosophy of the city of Athens, without quoting scripture<\/strong>.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>There is much to be learned from what is being said in this passage but should we do what Paul did?<span> <u>&nbsp;<\/u><\/span><u>Can we present the gospel through our culture like Paul?&nbsp; Can we present Jesus in a way that brings people to Christ without using scripture?<\/u>&nbsp; If we can&#8217;t then do we truly know the passage?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN\"><span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN\"><span><em><strong>Can we just know our scriptures or do we know our scriptures by doing them\u2026jazz says we don\u2019t know until we can do.<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Can you think other passages that we can not understand them until we do them?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What if we are meant to understand the scriptures by doing them?&nbsp;
