His World as Compsed by Mingus<\/em>,&quot; or listen to his music and references to church in general and the pentecostal church in particular are many.&nbsp; With titles such as, &quot;Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting,&quot; complete with hoops, hollars and shouts&#8211;Mingus signals a clear connection between jazz and the church that he had left behind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jazztheologian.typepad.com\/.shared\/image.html?\/photos\/uncategorized\/mingus2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" alt=\"Mingus2\" src=\"https:\/\/jazztheologian.typepad.com\/findingthegroove\/images\/mingus2.jpg\" width=\"200\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> His music is worth owning.&nbsp;
