{"id":323,"date":"2007-10-20T16:30:00","date_gmt":"2007-10-20T16:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/jazztheologian\/2007\/10\/re-formation-1.html"},"modified":"2007-10-20T16:30:00","modified_gmt":"2007-10-20T16:30:00","slug":"re-formation-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/jazztheologian\/2007\/10\/re-formation-1.html","title":{"rendered":"Re-formation:  The Power of &#8220;Sola&#8221;-darity (p2)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sola Scriptura.<\/p>\n<p>Doctrinally, it means that the Bible is the infallible and innerant word of God&#8211;truthful and authoritative in all it affirms.&nbsp; Sure we can read other books but there never has been nor will there be a book like it.&nbsp; It takes primacy over tradition, culture, dreams visions&#8230;everything.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, for me, sola scriptura is more than a doctrine&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I decided to follow Jesus when I was nine years old.&nbsp; Soon after my baptism I asked my Grandmother for a Bible.&nbsp; I devoured it.&nbsp; I couldn&#8217;t stop reading it.&nbsp; I would fall asleep with my face resting in it.&nbsp; For a little boy who who had no daddy; I discovered the voice of my heavenly Father in the scriptures.&nbsp; It was compelling.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><em>What about you?&nbsp; What keeps you coming back to the scriptures?<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sola Scriptura.
