{"id":292,"date":"2008-02-02T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-02-02T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/jazztheologian\/2008\/02\/blind-spots-par-2.html"},"modified":"2008-02-02T16:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-02-02T16:00:00","slug":"blind-spots-par-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/jazztheologian\/2008\/02\/blind-spots-par-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Blind Spots (part 1)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jazztheologian.typepad.com\/.shared\/image.html?\/photos\/uncategorized\/2008\/02\/01\/blindspot_qjgenth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"78\" alt=\"Blindspot_qjgenth\" src=\"https:\/\/jazztheologian.typepad.com\/findingthegroove\/images\/2008\/02\/01\/blindspot_qjgenth.jpg\" width=\"100\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> This week at CCC Englewood and Aurora we began our series for Lent called <em>Blind Spots<\/em>.&nbsp; During this season of examination and contrition we seek to ascertain if there is anything in our life that would keep us from finishing well.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.&nbsp; (II Tim. 4.7)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We all literally have blind spots physically (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.findyourblindspot.com\/flash.php\">click here to find yours<\/a>).&nbsp; We have them spiritually as well.&nbsp; That is, things in our life, if left unchecked, could shipwreck our faith.&nbsp; When we discover them and make the proper adjustments we can fix our eyes fully on Jesus. (Heb. 12.1ff)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We usually can&#8217;t see our own spiritual blind spots.&nbsp; This lent, consider asking a trusted follower of Christ the following question:&nbsp; <em>Do you see anything in my life that would keep me from finishing well<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em>Scripture also allows us to observe frail people like ourselves with blind spots.&nbsp; Can you think of any examples that you think should be considered in this sermon series and in this series of posts?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week at CCC Englewood and Aurora we began our series for Lent called Blind Spots.&nbsp; During this season of examination and contrition we seek to ascertain if there is anything in our life that would keep us from finishing well.
