from South Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It\u2019s night as I\u2019m sitting outside, staring at the stars and<br \/>\nlistening to Miles Davis on my Ipod\u2026<span>&#160;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019m thinking about two conversations that I had this<br \/>\nweek: &#160;Two men\u2014one black the other<br \/>\nwhite\u2014who were young men during apartheid and are now middle aged.<span>&#160;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jazztheologian.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c63c953ef010534d31bbe970b-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Miles_Davis_Tutu\" class=\"at-xid-6a00d8341c63c953ef010534d31bbe970b  selected\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jazztheologian.com\/.a\/6a00d8341c63c953ef010534d31bbe970b-120pi\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe white man was raised to hate.<span>&#160; <\/span>In the police force he was trained that blacks were no good<br \/>\nand that he had permission to shoot them.<span>&#160;<br \/>\n<\/span>He laments those days now that he sees the new South Africa.<span>&#160; <\/span>Sure, he recognizes that whites do not<br \/>\nhave as much as they had in terms in power but he says that it is more than<br \/>\nmade up for by the new friendships gained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The black man remembered how the police would fire tear gas<br \/>\nif they ever saw a gathering of blacks.<span>&#160;<br \/>\n<\/span>After apartheid, he became part of a traveling drama show in which he<br \/>\nplayed Stephen Biko retelling the story not for the purpose of making people<br \/>\nfeel guilty but with the hopes of reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><em>Tutu.<span>&#160;
