In yet another chapter in appalling news<\/a> from Pakistan, a Christian couple has been beaten and then burned death by a mob which allegedly believed they should die for having desecrated the Qu’ran.<\/p>\n

How in the name of all that is holy can that be happening in the 21st Century? What is wrong with citizens of a country who are repeatedly incited to violence by alleged blasphemy?<\/p>\n

Mob murder for unproven actions…actions that (if indeed they occurred) would not result in death anywhere in the modern world….<\/p>\n

Add to that the allegation that they were locked in the factory by the husband’s boss in a dispute over unpaid debts….<\/p>\n

Is it any wonder that the rest of the world considers Muslims mired in the past? These actions reflect on American Muslims (especially those of Pakistani heritage) no matter how much we’d prefer not to acknowledge it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
