Doing this provides you with options; it broadens you. You discover that just because you made lemonade one way all your life doesn&#8217;t mean you have to go on making it that way forever.&#8221; <\/i>&#8212; Miriam Polster, IN SWEET COMPANY: CONVERSATIONS WITH EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN ABOUT LIVING A SPIRITUAL LIFE<\/p>\n<p>I am not a math person. All you have to do is look at my checkbook to know numbers are not my strong suit. But I am the daughter of a mechanical engineer, a man who revered numbers. Math was the language my Dad spoke; it was the logic behind his language. Numbers were practical, evidenced-based, and of the earth. I, on the other hand, am not.<\/p>\n<p>Dad and I were like two sides of the same brain &#8212; he the linear, logical left brain; I the creative, intuitive right brain. Our different world views were the source of many misunderstandings during my Wonder Bread years. In time, we found a common ground and came to appreciate each other in ways I always longed for. Still, I carry an aversion for all things mathematical. I could never quite &#8220;get&#8221; their appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Then the Universe sent me an email, one of those things people forward from friend to friend to friend, that made me fall in love with numbers. Some arithmetical soul figured out the following numerical sequences and i was head over heels.
