I recently joined Facebook, became a Facebooker? Bookee? Bookette? A member or subscriber or whatever we all are. I am not, by nature, a technology person so getting the hang of how to Facebook (Is it a verb?), the etiquette, getting over feeling like Mr. Rogers when I invite someone to be my friend, has been interesting.<\/p>\n

As you all probably know, people post thought-provoking things on their wall. One quote really got to me and it seems to originate from a fellow Booker called \u201cLiving in Tune\u201d (www.livingintune.com). The quote reads: \u201cI\u2019m not telling you it is going to be easy, I\u2019m telling you it\u2019s going to be worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n

I think what got me about this particular post is that, given my long experience with things that have not been \u201ceasy,\u201d the quote is about as true a thing as I\u2019ve ever read. Life is not easy, but it has been worth it. I am immensely grateful for what I\u2019ve become as a result of what\u2019s been put on my plate.<\/p>\n

Not that I\u2019m done learning. Not that I\u2019m never in a place of concern or frustration or depletion. Not that I don\u2019t spend time on my knees alternately asking God for help and ranting about the messiness of the situation– wondering, hoping, holding out for and insisting on an easier way to get the show on the road. But when the smoke clears, I do feel grateful. Sometimes, I feel awe. If I\u2019m really honest with myself, I almost always feel I would not have learned what I needed to learn if I had not been challenged to rise to the occasion.<\/p>\n

Even if those feelings were absent, it\u2019s still worth it because it doesn\u2019t take me as long as it used to to catch on to what the Universe is trying to teach me; because, over time, I\u2019ve learned to trust that, in time, what is right and good and best will come to me. And to you, too.<\/p>\n
