In his first of two events, David Boudia joined teammate Nick McCrory for a late comeback to earn bronze in the 10 meter platform synchro event. It was Boudia’s first career Olympic medal after coming home from Beijing empty handed in 2008. Boudia and McCrory’s score of 463.47 edged out the hometown favorites from Great Britain by nine points. Boudia will go on later this week compete in the individual 10 meter platform event.<\/p>\n

Earlier this summer, Inspiring Athletes caught up with Boudia who talked about his desire to give God the glory no matter what the outcome at this year’s Summer Games:<\/p>\n

“In 2008, diving was my God,” Boudia said. “It was a forced competition. I needed to do well there if I wanted to do well later in life. But for this Olympics, I\u2019m enjoying every moment, day by day, because tomorrow\u2019s not guaranteed. It\u2019s more about what I\u2019m doing to share my purpose but not forcing it on people. God is providing this platform so He can reveal Himself.”<\/p>\n
