KANSAS CITY, KS — Scott Wimmer was supposed to be driving the #82 K-Love car for MacDonald Motorsports today at Kansas Speedway.<\/p>\n

But when Nationwide Series contender Reed Sorenson was unexpectedly (and inexplicably) let go by Turner Motorsports this week (even though he was third in points and mathematically in the hunt for a championship), Randy MacDonald offered to help Sorenson get back on the track. Wimmer was also a big part of the equation as he graciously stepped aside to let Sorenson take his ride.<\/p>\n

The move has been very positive for MacDonald Motorsports and K-Love who both have received a great deal of media attention that wouldn’t have otherwise been there. Sorenson is slated to finish the season in the #82 car. He’ll join MacDonald Motorsports teammate Blake Koch who drives the #81 Daystar car.<\/p>\n
