Olympic Gold Medalist Steve Holcob has another “gold.” And Golden Retriever Bailey has a new home and new daddy!<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n


\n\"Bailey<\/span>On March 25, the long anticipated reunion of Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Holcomb and “Bailey,” a 2 year old Golden Retriever that he met and fell in love with during a “by chance” meeting at the NBC Today Show on March 5th, finally came to fruition as Bailey arrived in Denver along with a representative from the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals for New York.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Bailey was brought to Animal Care & Control of NY on February 23. Her owner abandoned her by leaving Bailey with someone and never returning. Bailey appeared on the AC&C weekly rescue segment on the NBC Today Show on March 5th, same show that Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Holcomb appeared on. Steven fell in love with Bailey and at the end of the show they announced that Steven would adopt Bailey.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Every year over 40,000 animals come into the Animal Care & Control of NY so one adoption makes a difference.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

This information was provided by the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, Inc., founded in 2002 and powered by Maddie’s Fund\u00ae, The Pet Rescue Foundation, with support from the ASPCA, is a coalition of more than 160 animal rescue groups and shelters that is working with Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C) to end the killing of healthy and treatable cats and dogs at AC&C shelters. To achieve that goal, the Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, helps its Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) work to their highest potential to increase pet adoptions and spay\/neuter rates, with the goal of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015.
