Former NFL running back Peyton Hillis is reported to be in critical condition in the ICU after saving his kids from drowning in the ocean. The incident happened in Pensacola, FL where Hillis had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital after a “swimming accident” when trying to save his children from downing. His children are reported to be OK while Hillis still remains unconscious in the ICU where he is receiving treatment for his kidneys and lungs.<\/p>\n

Hillis played football at the University of Arkansas from 2004-2007 and went on to play eight seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played for the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants during his time in the league before retiring in 2015 due to his concussion history. Since then, he has recently picked up acting, starring in the horror film “The Hunting” in 2021.<\/p>\n

Hillis’ uncle, Greg Hillis, took to Facebook to give a brief update and ask for continued prayers. \u201cI just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better,\u201d he wrote. \u201cHe\u2019s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and lungs, but doctors say he is improving.\u201d He continued by saying, \u201cI just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started.
