A 12-year-old little league player posted to Instagram<\/a> to thank his supporters for their prayers after falling from a bunk bed a couple weeks ago. Easton Oliverson was in Williamsport, Pennsylvania where his team had won the Little League Mountain Region and were ready to advance to the World Series when one of his teammates was awakened from the sound of Easton\u2019s fall and rushed for help. Easton had to be life flighted to a local children\u2019s hospital with severe head injuries. Doctors removed a portion of Easton\u2019s skull due to swelling. His uncle, Spencer Beck, posted about the situation, writing, \u201cWhile living the dream and having the opportunity of a lifetime in Williamsport, last night my little nephew Easton fell off the bunkbed. He has been life flighted to a childrens hospital in Danville, PA.\u201d Many of Easton\u2019s earlier updates on his Instagram page show the serious odds Easton was facing with details such as a doubtful recovery, his breathing tube, and MRI result.<\/p>\n

Despite the devastating injuries and the grim prognosis, Easton returned to his home state of Utah on Tuesday, where he will stay at least another week at Primary Children\u2019s Hospital in Salt Lake City. A picture was posted of Easton, nicknamed \u201cTank\u201d as he was flown back home. Easton was welcomed back by his dad and treated to his favorite nachos. \u201cWe are extremely blessed to have him back close to home, and making the improvements that he is. We are confident that he is where he is today because of his prayer army,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n

In his video, Easton thanked everyone who had been praying for him. \u201cPlease keep praying for me as I continue to get better, I know the prayers and blessings have worked, and that heavenly Father is blessing me.\u201d His father, Jace, had previously expressed his gratitude, saying, \u201cI\u2019m just grateful that he\u2019s still alive, because I was pretty much told he had a 0% chance to live. We feel very fortunate. There is a chance of a full recovery. It\u2019s just a matter of how long and the therapy that he\u2019s going to receive. We\u2019re just asking for prayers, continuous prayers.\u201d He also stated that nothing but divine intervention could explain Easton\u2019s recovery.<\/p>\n

The news of Easton\u2019s injury has earned him national attention, with many professional athletes rallying behind him. Easton\u2019s favorite player, Mookie Betts of the LA Dodgers sent a video of encouragement, which was shared on his Instagram. \u201cHey Easton, it\u2019s Mookie Betts. I just wanted you to know that we are praying for you, thinking of you and I hope to see you soon, my man.\u201d Former baseball star Todd Frazier also sent Easton a message. Wearing a shirt with the little leaguer\u2019s name and a bracelet, he stated \u201cwe are all praying for you\u201d and that he hoped to see Easton soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
