A funeral in Peru was dramatically interrupted after \u2018knocking\u2019 was heard from within a coffin. The family of Rosa Isabel Cespedes Callaca had gathered in the city of Lambayeque to pay their final respects on April 26. Rosa had been involved in a severe crash on the region\u2019s Chiclayo-Picsi Road.<\/p>\n

The accident claimed her brother-in-law\u2019s life and left her nephews with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

She had been pronounced \u2018dead\u2019 following the horrific crash and later loaded into a coffin ahead of her funeral. However, when her relatives hoisted the wooden structure onto their shoulders, they began to hear strange sounds. They lowered the casket and opened the lid to find Rosa peering up at them, weak but very alive.<\/p>\n

Cemetery caretaker Juan Segundo Cajo said, \u201cShe opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police.\u201d Shocked relatives rushed Rosa, still in her coffin, to the Referential Hospital Ferrenafe in Lambayeque. Once there, Rosa was found to have weak signs of life. She was hooked up to a life-support machine by medics.<\/p>\n

Sadly, her condition deteriorated, and she tragically died just a few hours later. Her family, who had to say their farewells twice, are now demanding answers. They have expressed outrage at healthcare bosses because she was declared dead in the first place.<\/p>\n

An unnamed aunt told local media in Lambayeque, \u201cWe want to know why my niece reacted yesterday when we were taking her to be buried.\u201d She added, \u201cWe have the videos in which she pushes and touches the coffin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rosa\u2019s family suspects she may have been in a coma following the crash, explaining why she was pronounced dead the first time around. Police in Peru are now investigating just what happened at the Lambayeque Regional Hospital, where she was first treated, which led to her death.<\/p>\n

Rosa\u2019s three nephews, who were injured in the same crash as she, are recovering in hospital but still in serious condition. Oddly enough, this isn\u2019t the first time something like this has happened.<\/p>\n

It comes after a pensioner who was\u00a0pronounced dead turned out to be alive\u00a0just as his body was about to be taken to a crematorium. Footage emerged on\u00a0Chinese\u00a0social media showing the moment baffled workers unzipped a body bag after staff noticed movement as it was put in a hearse.<\/p>\n

The clip shows officials in protective gear hauling a yellow body bag from the hearse. They can be heard telling staff to open it, and one person says: \u201cYou come here and see if he\u2019s dead? He is still breathing! Didn\u2019t you see he\u2019s moving?\u201d<\/p>\n

The unverified footage then shows the body bag peeling back, revealing that the pensioner is still alive despite carers thinking he\u2019d died from\u00a0Covid. The man was then wheeled back into the nursing home before being taken to the hospital for a check-up. He is said to be in a stable condition as authorities probe the incident after the nursing home issued an apology.
