Alex Trebek, the beloved longtime host of “Jeopardy!”, was diagosed in March with stage four pancreatic cancer. He pledged to beat the \u201clow survival rate statistics for this disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the help of his fans, he has done just that. <\/p>\n

Trebek asked fans to pray for him and “keep the faith” while he entered into chemo treatment. According to PEOPLE, his doctors have told Trebek he’s now in “near remission.”<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kind of mind-boggling,\u201d Trebek stated. \u201cThe doctors said they hadn\u2019t seen this kind of positive result in their memory\u2026some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it comes to pancreatic cancer, over 50,000 other Americans are diagnosed with the disease a week and the survival rate is at a dismal nine percent. It’s really increidble how Trebek was able to fight the odds. His doctors even agreed that faith could have played an important part of his recovery. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a couple million people out there who have expressed their good thoughts, their positive energy directed towards me and their prayers,\u201d he said. \u201cI told the doctors, this has to be more than just the chemo, and they agreed it could very well be an important part of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a lot of love out there headed in my direction and a lot of prayer, and I will never ever minimize the value of that,” he continued. <\/p>\n

Trebek, 78, will continue chemotherapy for a few more rounds. Despite his health problems, he has continued to host “Jeopardy!”. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
