A Wisconsin high school graduation turned into an unforgettable family reunion when a deployed military sister surprised her younger brother by personally handing him his diploma after returning home from overseas service.<\/p>\n

The emotional moment happened during Milwaukee Lutheran High School\u2019s graduation ceremony and has since captured the hearts of millions online.<\/p>\n

As graduate Kalen Barksdale walked across the stage expecting to receive his diploma, a school official suddenly stopped the ceremony and told him it was missing. For a brief moment, confusion and disappointment filled the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first initial reaction was embarrassment because that\u2019s a huge milestone to achieve,\u201d Kalen shared during an appearance on \u201cFox & Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Kalen did not know was that the missing diploma was part of a carefully planned surprise involving his sister, Mauriana, who had been deployed overseas and was uncertain whether she would make it home in time for graduation.<\/p>\n

Instead of school staff presenting the diploma, Mauriana appeared from the back of the auditorium holding it in her hands as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.<\/p>\n

The touching reunion left few dry eyes in the audience.<\/p>\n
