It was lost, but now it’s been found. That\u2019s the story regarding a Georgia man\u2019s beloved Bible, which had gone missing for months before a good Samaritan\u2019s persistence changed everything. In January, William Bailey lost his Bible when it fell off his car before he went to church. He told The Courier Herald <\/em>he prepared a message to share at church one night and had it tucked inside his Bible before he set the book on his car for a moment.<\/p>\n

Bailey told the outlet, \u201cWe were getting ready to leave, and I sat the Bible on top of my car, and my granddaughter called and wanted me to come back inside the house for something. We got to church, got out, and I thought I had forgotten my Bible.\u201d In reality, Bailey forgot to grab the Bible and put it in the car before driving off. That\u2019s when he realized the book was gone. According to The Courier Herald, <\/em>Bailey and his wife, Dot, prayed for it to be found, but months went by. Bailey said he was \u201csick\u201d over the loss and felt he would simply never find it again. Still, being selfless at his core, Bailey told his wife he hoped \u201cwhoever found it got some good out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Little did he know, someone did find the Bible. A man named Barron Howard, Jr. discovered it in the family\u2019s driveway. And when his grandma, Barbara James, heard about the surprising find, she set out on a mission to locate its rightful owner. \u201cIf I lost my Bible, I would really want it back,\u201d she told The Courier Herald<\/em>. \u201cI would hope that whoever found it would go the extra steps to find it and get it back to me. I just couldn\u2019t rest.\u201d James truly didn\u2019t stop trying, but she wasn\u2019t getting anywhere; she couldn\u2019t find any information in the Bible that would lead her back to the mystery owner. James\u00a0reportedly did find<\/a>\u00a0a number inside the Bible and phoned it twice a day, but no one answered.<\/p>\n
