I am living in yesterday\u2019s daydream.<\/p>\n

I know that sounds weird, but I\u2019m telling you, it\u2019s the truth. I feel like I\u2019m constantly having d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu.<\/p>\n

For example, I live on a block in a neighborhood I envied for years. I used to drive through downtown, always look at a particular row of houses and, from the bridge overlooking it, say, \u201cIt must be so beautiful to live there.\u201d Now I do. I didn\u2019t even realize it at first. I had already moved in, and then one day walked out to the corner and noticed that same bridge in front of me. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>It\u2019s not just that; it\u2019s lots of little things, such as the creative community of friends I have or my job as an inspiration editor. These were all fleeting thoughts in my mind, and now they\u2019re part of my life. It\u2019s uncanny.<\/p>\n

If people ask me how I got to be so lucky, I shrug and say, \u201cGod\u2019s been incredibly kind.\u201d I don\u2019t have any answers. I\u2019m not trying to brand some pop philosophy here or give you five steps to make your dreams come true. I do want to ask this: <\/p>\n

If what you do and where you are in six months is a reflection of what you\u2019re thinking about right now, would you be better off? <\/p>\n

God is listening to your thoughts, and the universe is absorbing your energy all day long. You\u2019re constantly sending signals about who you are and what you want. If you believe the best is yet to come, you are drawing all those good things to yourself.<\/p>\n

When my mother discovered the power of thoughts and words, she never let her children say a bad thing about ourselves again\u2026 even if we were joking. If speaking about a new venture and one of us said, \u201cKnowing me, I\u2019ll fall down and break a leg,\u201d she was quick to say, \u201cDon\u2019t speak that over yourself.\u201d I didn\u2019t get it at the time, but now I see that she knew the importance of self-fulfilling prophecies. Your words and thoughts create your universe \u2013 good or bad. <\/p>\n
