He was reportedly behind the wheel in Grand Chute, Wisconsin, when he saw a dangerous crash involving two semi-trucks. He told WBAY-TV, \u201cI put on my four ways because I honestly thought the truck was going to come over and slam into me, came to a stop, looked, seen that she was still in the driver\u2019s seat, seeing the fire and stuff, the sparks, the tires were on fire.\u201d \u00a0As flames began to spread quickly, he realized a female driver was trapped and unable to exit.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Addezio knew there wasn\u2019t time to wait for emergency personnel, so he put himself in harm\u2019s way, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and pulled the woman out of the dangerous situation before her truck was totally engulfed in flames. He added, \u201cMy body just started moving on its own. I told her it was going to be OK \u2014 \u2018I\u2019m here.\u2019 I smiled and said I\u2019d help [her] out.\u201d In the end, D\u2019Addezio did just that, rescuing the grateful woman from what could have been a deadly situation. His boldness and willingness to serve is notable. \u201cInstead of panic, you harness the fear and use it,\u201d D\u2019Addezio\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc26.com\/appleton\/she-just-said-thank-you-how-one-man-turned-into-a-local-hero\">told WGBA-TV<\/a>\u00a0of his motivation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aah-tI76FdI?si=V9_BZJx_oAmtzuUL\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The woman he rescued reportedly asked him why he risked his life for her. \u201cShe just said, \u2018Thank you.\u2019 She was crying,\u201d he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc26.com\/appleton\/she-just-said-thank-you-how-one-man-turned-into-a-local-hero\">said<\/a>. \u201cI just said, \u2018That\u2019s what I do\u2019.\u201d Further reflecting on the situation, D\u2019Addezio\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbay.com\/2024\/05\/29\/good-samaritan-saves-woman-burning-truck-after-crash-i-41\/\">said<\/a>\u00a0he believes people have a responsibility to help one another. \u201cI would hope someone would get out of the car and save one of my loved ones too, in this case,\u201d he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbay.com\/2024\/05\/29\/good-samaritan-saves-woman-burning-truck-after-crash-i-41\/\">told WBAY-TV<\/a>. \u201cDo what you would to other people for how you want to be treated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Addezio continued, \u201cIt\u2019s important for all of us to work together in society the way it is these days.\u201d The Good Samaritan, who has a 4-year-old with leukemia, truly put himself before others \u2014 a lesson all of us can heed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Truck driver Randall D\u2019Addezio\u2019s day was going normally until it wasn\u2019t.
