A group of bystanders were hero’s after they sprung into action to help save a man who was trapped in a burning car following a crash in Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred along I-94 in St. Paul around 6:30 p.m., when a Honda drifted to the right, leaving the road, striking a light pole before bursting into flames.<\/p>\n

Kadir Tolla, one of the bystanders, spoke with KMSP-TV saying he didn’t expect his commute to work to go that way, but when he saw the crash, he wanted to help because “that could be me one day.” Another bystander was able to smash the glass while Tolla and others pulled the driver, Samuel Orbovich, 71, out of his burning car, just as the flames were going inside the car. \u201cI\u2019m glad he got out in time,\u201d Tolla told KMSP-TV. The Minnesota State Patrol said that Orbovich did not sustain any serious injuries, but was transported to the local hospital for further evaluation.<\/p>\n

Minnesota State Patrol Lieutenant Jill Frankfurth released a statement to People saying,\u00a0 \u201cThe State Patrol is grateful that the driver is ok due to the heroic actions of the individuals who stopped to help. These types of incidents can happen anywhere and at any time and that\u2019s why we always need motorists to remain vigilant.
