I think it\u2019s in my top 10 books that have changed the way I think and behave.<\/p>\n<p>In the book, the author takes a year to pursue happiness in the daily routine of her life as a wife, mother and writer in New York City. She realizes that happiness is just as much how you feel as what you do.  <\/p>\n<p>One point she stresses is doing some things everyday. She says on her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.happiness-project.com\/happiness_project\/2009\/01\/your-happiness-project-do-something-every-day.html\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a>: &#8220;The things you do every day take on a certain beauty, and provide a kind of invisible architecture to daily life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Being a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/inspirationreport\/2011\/05\/joel-osteen-on-habitual-happiness-2.html\">generally happy person<\/a> has a lot to do with what you do all day. So lately, I\u2019ve been examining the things that <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/inspirationreport\/2011\/05\/what-makes-you-happy.html\">make me happy<\/a> and realizing which ones are task-oriented and need to be done every day. Also, I write them down. Because I know if I don\u2019t, they\u2019ll get lost in the shuffle of life\u2019s maintenance. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/inspirationreport\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/89\/2011\/05\/yoga-in-the-city-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"yoga-in-the-city\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1752\" \/><\/a>The 5 things I must do every day are:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tWrite my novel (doesn\u2019t matter how many pages\u2026 just write something)<br \/>\n2.\tPlay my guitar and sing<br \/>\n3.\tTalk with God<br \/>\n4.\tSit in silent<br \/>\n5.\tExercise (be that walking, yoga or running)<\/p>\n<p>After I do these, I always feel refreshed and accomplished. Every good ordinary day I\u2019ve ever had contains all five of these things. Plus, they are all small steps towards larger goals (i.e., finishing my novel and growing spiritually).  I figured what a great way to make every day a good day and get things done at the same time. <\/p>\n<p>So, what\u2019s your &#8220;5 Things You Must Do Every Day&#8221; to maintain your happiness? Everyone\u2019s is different.
