Chick-fil-A has given an employee who\u2019s studying at Regent University a $25,000 scholarship, making her the 100th employee to receive the honor. Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy recently surprised Peyton Edwards, who serves as the director of a restaurant in Virginia after starting as a team member eight years ago.<\/p>\n

Regent University shared on social media, \u201cToday, Regent University student Peyton Edwards was awarded the $25,000 True Inspiration Scholarship from her employer, Chick-fil-A, making her the restaurant\u2019s 100thh scholarship recipient.\u201d The post also included a video of when the surprise occurred, which included a marching band, cameras, and several Chick-fil-A employees and customers who celebrated the moment. In addition to the scholarship, Cathy also gave Edwards a new laptop.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs this real, or am I dreaming?\u201d she said. \u201cI can\u2019t believe this is happening.\u201d As reported by\u00a0CBN News<\/a>, Chick-fil-A plans to award the \u201cTrue Inspiration Scholarship\u201d to 14 of its team members nationwide this year. Natalie Cheney, Chick-fil-A Owner\/Operator at Hilltop in Virginia Beach, explained that Edwards earned the scholarship in light of her encouraging words and her dedication to both school and work.<\/p>\n
