Actress Danica McKellar recently revealed the lessons she learned after reading the entire Bible in a year, sharing how she “really enjoyed it” and was left feeling deeply comforted.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, reading the Bible, I just have to say, I felt so comforted,\u201d McKellar said. \u201cAnd oddly so, even during the chapters like getting through Job, you know, and the poor guy, he\u2019s suffering and his friends are like, \u2018Yeah, well, it\u2019s probably your fault. It\u2019s something you did.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite those challenging moments, \u201cThe Wonder Years\u201d star said she still found comfort in Scripture.<\/p>\n

To help guide her reading, McKellar used \u201cThe Bible Recap\u201d to go through the Bible chronologically. Ultimately, she said, humility is one of the most important themes in the biblical narrative. \u201cFrom the human\u2019s point of view, it feels like the lesson we\u2019re supposed to learn is about ego versus humility and the way to live our lives in humility. And it doesn\u2019t mean that anything is being taken away. Just the opposite,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

In fact, she sees humility as the ultimate reward. \u201cIf I can get in touch with humility \u2026 God floods in, and it just feels amazing,\u201d she shared. She added that the Bible warns against following the wrong things and encourages a life based on total humility.<\/p>\n

For McKellar, finding faith has enriched her life, and she wants to share that experience with others. \u201cWhen you experience something that is so beautiful and so wonderful and so life-changing, you want everyone to feel that,\u201d she said. She has been open about her journey and her willingness to discuss her beliefs, saying it doesn\u2019t feel like a bold or courageous act. She just wants others to experience the same blessings she has found.<\/p>\n

McKellar has been very open about her faith journey, embracing Christianity and sharing her experience. The actress, who grew up around religion, says she only experienced the negative side of it. \u201cIn my life, starting in childhood, I had been made aware of all the hypocrisy in the various religions of Christianity, it being used for evil, power, and control throughout history, and that had definitely biased me,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnything powerful we use and corrupt it from time to time. And so that was my association with it, and I was missing out on all the amazing, beautiful stuff. Like all the good stuff. I wasn\u2019t open-minded to it before.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel so blessed\u2026 people have said, \u2018Oh, you are so bold,\u2019\u201d McKellar said of her willingness to discuss her beliefs. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t feel like bold. It doesn\u2019t feel like it requires courage or anything\u2026 When you experience something that is so beautiful and so wonderful and so life-changing, you want everyone to feel that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
