A new biopic based on the story of a one-armed all-star softball player, Katelyn Pavey, recently hit theaters, and the athlete hopes her story will help others realize they can do anything with Christ. According to a description of the movie, the film follows Pavey\u2019s incredible journey of \u201ctriumph with plenty of \u2018I Can\u2019 perseverance, her family\u2019s love, and lots of God\u2019s grace.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s trailer has already been viewed almost 2 million times, and the Christian athlete born with half a left arm says she wants to inspire people with her faith and ability. Pavey told The Christian Post, \u201cLife is not always easy, but my faith in God carried me through. I hope moviegoers take away that you have a purpose and God has plans for you and will guide you through whatever you do in life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Kentucky Christian University player<\/a> said she inspires people to use others\u2019 doubts about their abilities as motivation to get where God wants to take them. She said, \u201cOvercoming adversity is a mindset, and you need to set goals and work hard to achieve those goals. Use the doubts from people who tell you that you can\u2019t as fuel to get better. If I can do it, you can do it also. I have one arm and became a college All-American. I want people to know that God gave me the platform and the ability to play a sport I love, and they also have the ability to do what they want to, with God by their side.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pavey said the movie\u2019s release \u201cfelt surreal,\u201d adding, \u201cI never really thought I had a story to tell, but now that it\u2019s made, I\u2019m a bit nervous but excited to have the movie reach kids and people that have been told they can\u2019t.\u201d The movie not only shares Pavey\u2019s incredible story but also gives viewers a look into her family\u2019s struggles. The film\u2019s director, Tyler Sansom, who\u2019s also the family\u2019s pastor, said he\u2019s known the Paveys for over a decade and has wanted to share their story with the world for some time.<\/p>\n
