It is designed to allow parents, guardians, and mentors to share their work lives and introduce these issues to our nation’s daughters and sons.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The original event 18 years ago was called ‘Take Your Daughter to Work Day.’ It was established to offer teenage girls exposure to career options and to help build their self-confidence and it was sponsored by the Ms. Foundation. Find out more on About.com<\/font><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2010 event has its own foundation–the “Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Foundation”–that is the formal host the 18th annual Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work\u00ae Day.”<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the key elements is to “Get Inspired with Barbie.”  Here is how the official website <\/font><\/a>explains it: <\/span><\/p>\n

“With more than 120 careers on her resume, Barbie encourages girls to play out their dreams and explore the world and its possibilities. As lead sponsor of Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day, Barbie is inspiring a future generation of girls by helping bring them into the workplace and sharing experiences and stories from inspirational women leaders.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
